About Yozami – YGK – XBraid
Let’s look up on this brand first.
Yoz-ami Co., Ltd. is the official company name and YGK is the brand name of fishing department. Now they have made one another brand name, which is XBraid specialized for fishing line.
They are one of a few fishing line brands who builds braided lines by themselves, and accepts OEM from lots of other brands and their lines are highly trusted by huge amount of Japanese anglers.
They mainly had one of best selling braided line, G-Soul Upgrade X8, which we also loved to use for light game fishings.
Now they made lots of different variations of this Upgrade PE to all the other fishing types.

XBraid Omnium X8 Upgrade
This is a high-quality braided line from XBraid for versatile fishing.
This braided line uses high quality “Upgrade Thread”, which is originally created fishing line thread from Yoz-ami, and this is as of official says, stronger and tougher than other lines.
XBraid Upgrade Omnium is highly tentioned, densely braided therefore it is stronger against both pulling and scratching. This densitly also prevents swelling when you wet your line, so line trouble would be less than previous lines.
Size variety are from PE#0.6 – #10 (6.4kgf/14lbf – 76kgf/167.5lbf), in between 100m – 600m (500m is only for #10, 600m is only for #8).
5 colored on each 10m with marker on each 2m.
XBraid Upgrade Pentagram
High density, strong versatile braided line for light – medium type of fishing.
High tentioned, high density line is stronger against pulling and scratching. Braiding is very even throghout the line and therefore the power of the line is very even as well, but still affordable price.
From PE#0.4/10lb – #3/50lb, with 150-300m options, 5 colored with marks on each 2m.
XBraid Upgrade X8 Mono Color 300m
One of their best selling braided line YGK Upgrade X8. We also love using that line for lots of light – medium type of fishing, especially for game fishings but length were only 150m/200m.
Now new Upgrade X8 has 300m lineups with mono color – green without any markers.
When your line has markers, some of fisheaters can possibly attack the white marker and then cut the line off from middle, as the white marker could look like small baitfish for them.
But mono color can prevent that accidents and you can even use this for offshore game fishing such as deep sea jigging, or tuna casting.

YGK Ultra2 Max WX8
Ultra 2 is one of the best selling braided line for offshore freshbait fishing and YGK has renewed that.
New Ultra 2 is even stronger and more durable, with new visible 5 colors but still by affordable price.
Highly strong, durable but even and following Japan Fishing Line Standards so you can fit into any fishing reels correctly.
From PE#0.6(5.6kgf/12lbf) – #6(37kgf/81lbf), with 100-300m length.
XBraid UGO V6 Hard / Soft Fluorocarbon
This is the new fluorocarbon main line for lure fishing, from XBraid/YGK.
Fluorocarbon caracter is the same but have hard and soft type.
Soft type is much softer than other fluroroline so you can use this like monofilament lines. Especially for casting, this can be spooled out easier.
Hard type feels like the previous fluorolines but stronger especially against scratch. Also because of its hardness the line can have extra sensitivity that you can catch more information from your rigs.
Soft type is especially designed for casting, and hard type is for sensitivity.
#2/8lb – #5/20lb, 100m.
XBraid UP-G Leader V12 Hard/V10 Soft
This line made thinner but stronger by their original technology.
This seems like very similar to UGO V6 but specialized more for leader line.
You can use soft type like monofilament lines, which creates more natural lure actions. Hard type can be used especially for game fishing especially you need to have more sensitivity, to catch structure information and/or waterflow information.
We are especially interested in soft type, as most of fluorolines are very hard and often we need to select monofilament lines in some cases because of it, against our wills.
But this soft type could be the best match for those cases.

XBraid UGO M5
This is the monofilament line version of UGO V6.
New technology Super Soft W-DUM Nylon reduces water absorption, therefore can prevent line troubles much more with higher durability.
Nylon’s weekpoint – UV is also protected, all round nylon monofilament line.

XBraid Redocean V6 Boat Leader
This is fluorocarbon leader especially designed for offshore freshbait fishing.
Fluorocarbon leader’s merrits – strength against scratching and high sensitivity are still the same, but much softer to make baits more natural-look.
From #1.5 – #20 (strength not announced) with 100m.
Personally, you can possibly use this for your lure game leader as well, if you are really looking for low price fluorocarbon leader.
