You may have already heard about this news, which has been gossipped about for a long while, but yes, it’s true – DAIWA 24 CERTATE is coming up soon!
The previous 19 CERTATE has been loved so much by many anglers for its strength, power, and lightness, making it the best choice for shore light jigging and/or super light jigging game fishing.

Of Course.. AIRDRIVE DESIGN is Featured
It’s been expected of course, yet exciting… AIRDRIVE DESIGN is featured to this new 24 CERTATE as well as those new reels.
AIRDRIVE DESIGN includes four different features as you have already known it, started with 22 EXIST, AIRDRIVE ROTOR, AIRDRIVE BAIL, AIRDRIVE SPOOL and AIRDRIVE SHAFT.
Official says this AIRDRIVE ROTOR is made by ZAION, carbon material originated by DAIWA, not metal as some guessed.
Now I wonder whether it’s slightly different from 22 EXIST like it become even stronger, or use the same one?
AIRDRIVE Bail is thinner bail than previous AIR BAIL, but interestingly, one piece bail such as 22 EXIST, 23 AIRITY is still a little thicker than SHIMANO’s one, but 2 piece bail such as 23 LEXA, 23 LEGALIS is very close to SHIMANO’s, which is even thinner than those one piece bail type.
Now this 24 CERTATE has the same one piece bail and looks slightly thicker than 2 piece bail types, so I am guessing this is the same type of 22 EXIST as well as rotor.
AIRDRIVE SPOOL is the new shape to keep the strength but even thinner and lighter.
24 CERTATE spool is super simple, it does not have any holes to lighten up but just have one line with slight gap. Looks similar to 23 LEXA and even simpler than 19 CERTATE.
AIRDRIVE SHAFT is like “DAIWA’s Infinity Drive” that the main shaft is not touched to pinion gear that transmits clanking power directly from the handle without loss.
And the main shaft is made by SUS, which is even stronger than aluminium.
This material might be different from 22 EXIST?
New Features?
There is a few features that we haven’t really seen in other LT models as below.
Special Surface Treatment for Digigear – the special website tells that the main drive gear – MC Digigear has special surface coating that enhance its durability.
And LT3000-XH, LT4000-CXH, LT5000D-CXH, LT5000D-XH those have high-rigid pinion that is used for SALTIGA.
Waterproof Handle Seal – to me this looks like rubber seal for handle screw that can be seen on SW reels such as SALTIGA, CERTATE SW etc. That says it’s newly designed so could be slightly different, but at least it has even higher water resistance from any other LT reels.
Other Features
Othere features – are to be honest, pretty much expected ones as below.
- Aluminium Monocoque Body – not different from 19 model basically. Or shape is redesigned perhaps?
- Super Duralumin Machine-Cut Digigear – again expected, same as 19 model. Wondering about diameter, could be even bigger?
- ATD Type-L – this is again expected but great, I love this drag from 22 EXIST.
Not #1000 – BUT!?
I have heard from some of our customers that they wished to have #1000 size reel for light games, and now… Unfortunately not in the spec list.
But interestingly, FC – Finesse Custom – model is back on 24 CERTATE!
This is for finesse game – Magsealed Line Roller is taken off (Magsealed is still there around pinion), and its weight is even lighter than normal models.
If you are the one wished this reel for the light game fishing, FC #2000S can be the good choice 🙂
Spec and Release Date
As of above, new 24 CERTATE now has FC #2000S, FC #2500S, then normal LT2500 – LT5000D.
Release data is set on February 2024, so it’s pretty soon.

Now how did you like this new reel?
To be honest, in my opinion, these specs and features are pretty expected, except those new(?) features, and not really surprising (but of course, exciting).
