SHIMANO has announced new product information for this Autumn / Winter 2021 and we have already introduced some spinning reels and overhead reels the other day.
And today we introduce you their new fishing rods for shore anglers.
Exsence Genos
SHIMANO Exsence Genos is one of flag-ship fishing rods for seabass game fishing.
Each model has different characters and specialized for each fishing type.
And this rod has new model – Grand Stringer S108MH+/R for spinning, and B80H/RF for baitcaster.
S108MH+/R is especially for ranker size seabass for rock shore, which has sensitive tip that you can use 10-15g minnows but you can either use 30-60g big lures as well.
Blank is regular tapered and therefore whole blank of rod can bend smoothly to absorb shocks from fish action and pull up easily to the surface.
B80H/RF is a heavy power blank baitcasting rod that you can use up to 100g heavy lures with your baitcasting reels.
This has 8’0 length that you can either use from shore or from boats.
Blank is regular – fast tapered so it bends from near the butt section to the top smoothly.
S108MH+/R is 68,000 yen, B80H/RF is 64,000 yen.
Both new models will be on sale at September 2021.

Coltsniper XR – Baitcaster Model
Coltsniper XR is very popular shore jigging rods from SHIMANO and now it has extra models – baitcasting models.
Tip is very smooth and supple, and the blank bends very well and smooth from tip to butt and all designed especially for shore jigging fishing.
Casting is very nice and stress-free with SHIMANO Scorpion MD, with 8 pins SVS brake system.
All those baitcasting models have one length of 10’0, with different blank power – M/MH/H, the prices are from 39,500 – 41,000 yen, and they are already in the market.
Nessa XR
“Nessa” from SHIMANO is a brand for surf / beach fishing and new new rod is coming – Nessa XR.
21 Nessa XR is whole renewal model of previous Nessa Ci4+, but a lot nicer.
Spiral X Core and Hi-Power X are featured as previous model, but grip became a Carbon Monocoque Grip, which is the hollow structural carbon grip that can be very light and sensitive so you can catch more information from under the water – as SHIMANO official says.
Also, as well as 21 Coltsniper XR / 21 Exsence Genos this Nessa XR again has baitcaster model, B104M+.
All models are 3 pieces and closed lengths are all just above 100cm, so easy to place.
Price range is in between 42,000 – 44,00 yen and release date is later August 2021, so pretty soon.
Sephia X Tune / Sephia X Tune MB
SHIMANO’s high-end squid “eging” rod now has new models – S82L / S82M / S86MH.
Carbon Monocoque grip is very light and sensitive grip of hollow structural carbon grip.
Spiral X Core and Hi-Power X high strength but very light butt with Nanopitch wrapping.
Active Ferrule joint is very smooth and make 2 piece rods very close to single piece rods.
New models are shorter length of 8’2 with L – light power and M – medium power, and 8’6 with MH – medium / high power.
Sephia X Tune also has MB – mobile / pack rod version with 5 pieces.
Closed lengths is just below 60cm but just above 100g of weight, so super light but strong even with multi piece.
Those new models price range is in 51,500 – 53,500 yen, MB is in 52,000 – 53,000 yen and they are in the market at later this August 2021.

Sephia XR
Sephia XR is middle class eging rod from SHIMANO’s eging brand Sephia, with variety of 12 models – which supposed to be a renewal model of previous Sephia Ci4+.
Carbon Monocoque grip like X Tune that can be super light and sensitive, SHIMANO’s original X-Guide is also featured.
From short to long, from light to heavy, you can pick the right one from 12 models.
Price range is in 38,800 – 41,600 yen and will be in the market very soon, late August 2021.
Soare X Tune MB
Soare is SHIMANO’s brand for light saltwater game fishing, and X-Tune is the high end model such as Sephia X Tune, and this Soare X Tune MB is the high end fishing rod for light saltwater game, but mobile / pack rods.
Again Carbon Monocoque grip is featured, that is very light yet sensitive carbon hollow structural grip.
4 / 5 multiple piece so the closed lengths is just around 50cm so very easy to take the rod anywhere, anytime.
Price range is in 48,500 – 51,500 yen and will be in the market at September 2021.
Soare XR
Soare XR is the replacement model of previous Soare Ci4+ – middle class light saltwater fishing rod.
You might already be thinking like “oh again!?” but yes, Carbon Monocoque is the one of new features for this 21 Soare XR ( we assume this is one of the very hot feature from SHIMANO, and in fact, it is really nice).
X Guide is also featured.
This 21 Soare XR has wide 11 models.
Price range is in 37,000 – 40,000 yen and will be in the market at September 2021.
As you have read in our article above, Carbon Monocoque grip is one of the hottest feature from SHIMANO as it has been featured to a lot of new models.
This is carbon hollow structural grip as already explained, so any shocks that rod can catch can actually be enhanced inside the carbon grip by surrounded and reflected inside, and this is why it is light yet sensitive.
SHIMANO rods are getting better and better, and a lot of anglers in Japan even choose SHIMANO rods nowadays.
