This is one of the big name of the fishing reel – SHIMANO CALCUTTA Conquest is SHIMANO’s round baitcasting reel and has a lot of fan all over the world.
Now this has another variation – Shallow Edition, with black / gun metal body!

Shallow Spool for Lighter Rigs
Strong, smooth and powerful baitcasting reel, this is CALCUTTA Conquest, especially built for blackbass fishing.
And this new type of CALCUTTA Conquest is especially for lighter rigs!
φ33mm diameter, 19mm narrow MGL Spool III is super light shallow spool which can spin really well, but has lower inertia, that works really well especially for lighter rigs, but still have good enough line capacity – 8lb/100m.
Therefore this reel is not only for “finesse” type, of course normal weight lures can be casted really well.
SVS Infinity is also matched up with this spool which can cast even further, especially towards the end of casting.
Powerfull but Smooth – Micromodule Gear and Infinity Drive
Strength of round type bait casting – tough, rigid and strong, are of course achieved by it’s “Dark” full metal body. I really like this color!
Micromodule Gear III made by ultra-high-strength brass material, makes reeling extra smooth, with much less noise.
And Infinity Drive gives you more of reeling torque and power of course.
Spec and Release Date
This new SHIMANO CALCUTTA Conquest Shallow Edition only has one size and gear ratio with both side of handle – 30HG/31HG.
Release date is set to January 2024 for 30HG, but unfortunately, not noticed for 31HG just yet. We will keep an eye on it and will inform once it’s out!

Hi Kevin, unfortunatel there is no info of the normal gear models 30/31 so far. But 30HG is getting out on market, and 31HG will be released on March 2024.
