Sunline, a long-established fishing gear manufacturer from Japan, has just released two new high-quality yet budget-friendly braided lines: Deep One x8 and Cast One x8!
These new lines are renewed and upgraded versions of the popular Siglon PE, loved by anglers around the world.
Let’s take a closer look at what makes them special.
High Strength, Low Cost – Made in Japan
Both models use HQ-PE (High Quality PE), a new braided line that achieves excellent cost performance without compromising strength or quality.
While the exact details of the new manufacturing process haven’t been disclosed, it appears to maintain the same high standards as the original Siglon PE, at a more affordable price.
The raw material is Izanas, a common high-performance fiber used in most premium braided lines today.
SUNLINE Deep One x8
A Multi-Color Braided Line That Covers a Wide Range of Fishing Styles
This line features 5 highly visible colors that alternate every 10 meters, allowing you to instantly see how much line is out. It’s designed for a wide range of applications, including deep sea fishing, and comes in spool lengths from 150m to 300m, with line sizes from PE0.3/8lb up to PE8/110lb.
Additionally, 100-meter connected bobbins will be available for even heavier setups, from PE10/135lb to PE30/260lb.
If you’re looking for a long braided line to manage casting distances or water depth by color, Deep One x8 is the one to go for. It’s also a great option if you use a single reel for multiple styles of fishing, including boat fishing with dropper rigs.
However, keep in mind that there is a white marker placed every meter within each color section. Fish like mackerel, bluefish, or needlefish that are known to attack white-colored objects may bite the line itself, so caution is advised in those situations.
SUNLINE Cast One x8
Excellent Visibility and Castability for Lure Fishing
Cast One x8 is a braided line designed specifically for casting-based lure fishing. The entire line is dyed in a bright, highly visible light green color, making it perfect for managing line direction and slack during casts and retrieves.
It’s especially tailored for shore-based anglers, with spool sizes of 150m and 200m and available in sizes from PE0.3/8lb to PE3/52lb—very similar to products like X-Braid Upgrade.
If you don’t need color markers to track distance or depth, and you’re targeting species like mackerel or bluefish that may attack multi-colored lines, Cast One x8 is an excellent alternative.

Both lines are scheduled for release in April 2025—just around the corner!
