New Jigging Method : Skidding

New Jigging Method “Skidding”

Are you enjoying your fishing weekend?.

As you may know there are some different styles of jigging fishing since jigging was recognised it&’s an effective method, like Fast Jigging, Slow Jigging, Light Jigging…

And now there is a new method of the jigging from Japan, called “Skidding”.

Here are what it is and what to do for Skidding jigging method.

Effective Jigging for Squid Bait Pattern

This Skidding, came from squids “skidding” to bite baits. Meaning you will fake your jig like squids chasing and biting baits around. Therefore, you don’t even need fast, tired action.

The main point of this method is to make action while falling, using skidding jigs. You will need to slide skidding jig side by side.

Here is the describing movie from Abu Garcia (in Japanese):

  1. When you decide the start position to act, stop your rod and jig, then commence to put down the rod slowly to make slide action.
  2. Make the right tension at the line to feel the action (not too tight), and slide your rod to make the best action if needed.
  3. When you feel to touch the bottom, wind up and bring it up to the first position. Stop couple of times while winding up, then start from step 1.

The main action is while falling, therefore you don’t really need to jerk strongly. And of course you can expect some bites while winding and stopping as well as the other jigging method, you can have more chance to get bites.
