Japanese Fishing Tackle Maker Tour! – Valleyhill

At the past early May, one of our staff has gone back to Japan for business trip.
And gratefully, he’s offered one day tour of their company!

Here we introduce his report about that day –Valleyhill one day tour.

Multi Fishing Maker –Valleyhill, Ja-Do, KAMIWAZA, Whiplash factory, TsuriMusha, Senshou, and so on…

This is the company I am very interested and chasing information all times –Valleyhill.
All those fishing tackle brand listed are from the same company basically. And in those brands, the most related brands to our fishing style are Valleyhill, Ja-Do and KAMIWAZA I think.

This day, one of their staff invited me for one day tour for their company when I was back to Japan for business trip.

The company is based on Nishinomiya – Hyogo ( near to Kobe ) prefecture, Kansai. When I arrived at Nishinomiya station he came to pick me up and brought to his office.
At their building huge amount of products are boxed and ready to be shipped. He then brought me to their showroom with a develop team staff.

That was a dream room I’ve ever seen… I am so sorry that I did not take photos as I was not sure it was permitted or not… But imagine all those fishing tackles like rods, lines, lures, soft plastics, hooks, landing nets, everything are hanged on the wall everywhere!

Fishing Must Be A “Hobby”

Because I often do lure fishing, I was so curious about those lures especially, so asked them about concepts of their lures.

“We basically don’t mention how to use Ja-Do’s lure really.” The develop team staff said. “We just supply unique lures unlike others. But it all depends on you how to use them.”

Well I see, I actually felt understood why their lures are so characteristics. Often we (I?)  love to use Ja-Do lures in Australia, because their lures are so characteristics and therefore you can make tactics clearly to fish. Sometimes I actually feel like, “Is this way the right way to use this lure?” but the different way from I thought the lure should be, often works well. Like, one of my favourite Ja-Do lure Erda Teufel 125F (the one we reviewed before) originally designed to middle diving lures down to 40cm – 120cm depth. However, when you pull up your rod and reel mid – fast speed, then it comes up to just under the surface. And in that speed the lure swim very well, randomly and it actually works well for Tailors. And there is no such kind of similar lures they supply. They are very characteristic, but the way of use is not only one. And surly, they work.

“Our brands are established based on hobby.” “Fishing is one of nature recreations and a hobby. Then, why not create tackles with fun?” This is why I am so curios and love their products very much.

New Product is On The Way

Valleyhill also supply some fishing rods, and I am on the test of Cyphlist Flatsaber – designed for Flathead fishing rod, which is working very well. Now, he told me they are on the development of seabass fishing rod next.

And wow! They let me test that rod and their lures!
I’ll introduce you about this test trip at the next post…

To be continued.
