As Fishing Festival 2021 and Fishing Show OSAKA 2021 are held online and starting from this weekend, Japanese fishing brands / companies are revealing new products, but it seems like big news are still hidden and will be revealed at those fishing shows.
But this, DAIWA already revealed one of new spinning reel as a big news – 21 LUVIAS AIRITY. Here are some information about this new LUVIAS.
The Biggest Update – Magnesium Monocoque Body + ZAION Rotor
This is the biggest update for 20 LUVIAS – has ZAION Monocoque Body, which is light but strong fiber material, but 21 LUVIAS AIRITY now has Magnesium Monocoque Body, which is the same as 18 EXIST.
ZAION is very light and strong, but of course, metal body is stronger.
Especially magnesium is very light but very strong, so high-end models basically use it.
Rotor is still ZAION rotor, which can be the same as 18 EXIST and 20 LUVIAS.
20 LUVIAS is a light ZAION MQ Body but affordable price spinning reel, but still a bit heavier than 18 EXIST.
But this 21 LUVIAS AIRITY is a little lighter than 18 EXIST with this upgrade.

Now let’s compare those 3 spinning reels of DAIWA.

At all models 21 LUVIAS AIRITY models are lighter than 18 EXIST, interestingly.
Ball bearings are just one less but price are at least 10,000 yen cheaper.
This is just a thought from specs however, it looks like 21 LUVIAS AIRITY is more like cheaper 18 EXIST than 20 LUVIAS.
And this is just one possible thought but, Monocoque Body is firstly out with 16 Certate HD, but personally feeling that MQ Body from 18 EXIST are drastically brushed up.
And some says, 20 LUVIAS MQ Body is more better than 18 EXIST as clearance are better and gears are meshed together firmly and smoothly.
If those impressions were right, you might feel that 21 LUVIAS AIRITY could be better than 18 EXIST.

Specs and Release Date
21 LUVIAS AIRITY range is pretty similar to 18 EXIST, like FC – Finesse Custom has LT1000S – LT 2500S and LT2500 – LT4000-C for normal type.
Interestingly, only FC LT2500S-XH-QD has Quick Drag system, which you can adjust drag power wider just by a little bit twisting the drag knob.
Firstly FC models (QD is excepted) are on salle at Feb 2021, LT2500 – LT4000-C will be at March 2021, and FC LT2500S-XH-QD will be at April 2021.
But of course, this will be introduced at Fishing Festival 2021 and Fishing Show OSAKA 2021.
