At the past Japan Fishing Show ’18, plenty of new products were introduced from all fishing companies in Japan.
And now, one of the monster worldwide Japanese fishing company DAIWA, celebrating its 60th anniversary, has introduced one of the high performance spinning reel upgrading – DAIWA EXIST ’18.
Here we are introducing you the first EXIST of DAIWA’s new LT – Light (and) Tough concept.
Light and Toughness Achieved by DAIWA’s New Technology
At their 60th anniversary, they decided to make totally different spinning reel body for this new EXIST’18 – named Monocoque Body.
This totally different reel body is made by very simple parts with less pieces, therefore the it can be much lighter than previous fishing reels. And because of its simplified body the total strength is highly gained. Yes, they changed the way of building totally, from different angle.
Let’s compare with previous reel EXIST’15.
The size that can have 24lb braided – 200m is 3012H – 235g. Against that, new EXIST’18 model is LT4000-CXH – 205g. 30g lighter than the previous model. If you compare to the SHIMANO’s new STELLA ’18, 4000XG is 255g. New EXIST’18 is 50g lighter than STELLA’18.
Of course that’s not only the comparing to those reels, however that can be one of big strong point of DAIWA EXIST’18.
Tough Digigear – The Advanced Digigear Gives Smoothness
This new EXIST’18 also has new Digigear technology – Tough Digigear.
This new gear design has been redesigned the shape and structures. Tougher material has been selected. And advanced technique is established and used to shape materials.
Its new gear and structures give you much less noise, and much smoother feeling when reeling. It will give you the best sensitivity.
DAIWA’s Waterproof Technology – Magsealed
MAGSEALED is a technology that implements a special liquid material developed by space engineering called “MAGOIL”. “MAGOIL” is used to create a water and dust-resistant barrier. Unlike normal oils MAGOIL can be solidified using a magnetic force, creating a practical solution to permanently seal a device from water – by DAIWA Global Website.
The DAIWA’s original waterproof technique Magsealed is also installed to new EXIST’18.
Magsealed is very special and complicated technique, so you will be extra careful when you maintain, but as long as you maintain in the right way this function keeps working very long.
Of course, the best way of maintenance is to ask DAIWA to overhaul.
Specks and Lineups
The LT concept models actually have smaller spools than the normal DAIWA spinning reels, so the size number will be different in the new EXIST’18.
And new EXIST’18 also has 2 different concepts – origianl models and finess custom models, which are designed especially for small game fishing such as bass, trout, yelow tail mackerel, etc.
