I have actually expected this news would come up soon.
Do you remember Japan original model DAIWA Ballistic FW? This is light and tough like 18 Exist but for fresh water model.
Now this new Ballistic LT has saltwater model as well.
One of the Lightest Reel with Magsealed
As already described, Ballistic FW is light weight with Zaion body / rotor but without DAIWA Magsealed for freshwater use.
Lots of bass fishing angler in Japan uses this reel and has good reviews.
And now, new Ballistic has Magsealed, for saltwater compatible.
Magsealed is installed around pinion gear in the body, so it has strong waterproof.

Other Features
Basically this new Ballistic is based on FW, so other features are all the same as Ballisic FW.
Main gear is Machine-Cut Tough DigiGear, which has smoother and higher quality main gear.
Air Rotor and ATD – Automatic Drag System are also installed.
Difference in between US Ballistic and JP Ballistic
Now it’s also saltwater compatible, now what’s the difference in between US model and Japanese model?
The answer is “concept”. US Ballistic and JP Ballistic are based on similar concept – lighter but stronger. But US model is for “versatile” light reel at saltwater, so it has size variety of L1000 – LT6000.
Against that, JP Ballistic is for small game, so it only has LT2000 – LT4000.
Body / rotor materials are the same ZAION, but JP Ballistic has extra ball bearing inside.
US has Machine-cut Digigear but did not mention whether it’s a new Tough Digigear or not. JP model has Tough Digigear, which is established as DAIWA’s new technology.
About weight, JP models are a bit lighter than US from referring to the catalogue spec.
Of course color is different – US model is black and red, and JP model is black + gold.
Spec and Release date
As described above, this has multiple size of LT2000 – LT4000.
This DAIWA Ballistic LT is out at the last September 2019.
