Towards the new year 2024 – some fishing brands are starting to announce new products, prior to 2024 Fishing Festival.
And against the flag ship baitcasting reel – 24 STEEZ SV TW, affordable model has also been renewed – DAWA 24 TATULA 100 TW.
DAIWA TATULA brand is like SHIMANO’s Scorpion, affordable yet high spec, high cost effective fresh water bass fishing and the family is now welcoming new versatile baitcasting reel today.
New on HYPERDRIVE Design
It’s been while since this design concept is out from DAIWA – HYPEDRIVE Design, which aims to keep the “brand-new feeling” last longer ever.
We think this concept is really working well as we’ve been using 21 Zillion SV TW and 22 Zillion TW HD since out, both reels are still working beautifully.
Of course those price range is not that low against TATULA, however that gives us highly positive feeling so far.
This concept for 24 TATULA contains 3 features – Hyperdrive Digigiear: which enhanced gear-to-gear connection and lasts great feeling longer, Hyper Armed Housing: metal flamed tough and rigid housing body, Hyper Tough Clutch: redesigned to enhance durability on both freshwater and saltwater to keep using hundreds of times.
Spool Size and Brake System
New 24 TATULA’s brake system is Magforce-Z Brake System, which is now quite common to DAIWA baitcasting reels. You can adjust sensitively by dial switch, which is really easy, handy and quick.
Spool diameter is Φ34mm, which is pretty common size of versatile use baitcasting reel.
Interestingly, DAIWA Official page of 24TATULA has the caption of “Saltwater use compatible”, therefore this spool size is selected thinking about saltwater rock fish etc we suspect.
So the spot range of lures could be like 10-20g depends on how the brake is “tasted”.
Spec and Release Date
New 24 TATULA only has one size – 100, which is pretty common from DAIWA, that has capacity of 14lb – 115m, 16lb – 100m, so that braid line can be spooled like #2 – 180m, #3 – 120m approx (by calculation, not guaranteed).
Release date is set to December 2023.
