SHIMANO 22 SAHARA
2nd basic spinning reel from SHIMANO is this – 22 SAHARA.
DAIWA had a big share at entry – low price spinning reels for a while but through 2021 – 2022 SHIMANO is continuously releasing entry spinning reels – 21 Ultegra, 21 NASCI, 21 Nexsurf and now this, 22 SAHARA.
Price range is in between Sedona and Nasci but the biggest features are – Silent Drive and screw-in handle.
Those were not really expected as the SAHARA’s price range is just about 10,000 yen, so at least, 22 SAHARA is much better than previous 17 SAHARA.
Size is from #500 – #C5000(#4000 body size) and price range is 8,700 – 10,500 yen.

22 SOARE XR – 500 SPG
21 SOARE XR is the new spinning reel from SHIMANO for light saltwater game fishing.
Now this SOARE XR has additional size – 500SPG.
Line capacity: mono 2lb-115m 2.5lb-100m 3lb-70m / braid #0.3-140m #0.4-100m #0.6-80m and weight is only 135g.
Price is 35,900 yen and releasing at March 2022.
22 STELLA SW 10000HG
This is also additional model for the flagship SW spinning reel STELLA SW – 10000HG.
Based on the same body of 19 STELLA SW 10000PG but gear ratio is HG – high gear that has 116cm of retrieving range per clank, that can either use for casting game.
This line capacity is also matched to heavy rock shore jigging / casting for kingfish etc.
Price is 127,300yen a little expensive than 10000PG, and releasing at February 2022.
Purchase SHIMANO 19/20 STELLA SW
22 BB-X Rinkai SP
This is a whole new model for ISO rock shore freshbait fishing.
Compact and light, Ci4+ carbon material is used for body and rotor, and the rotor is new Magnum Light Rotor.
New shape Dual Brake Lever is also featured, middle range ISO floating rig reel is out soon.
Price is 49,000 yen, releasing at April 2022.
22 Kisu Special 45
This is also a brand new product – high end long casting spinning reel for surf.
Like 22 STELLA this oscillation system is super slow – just one up / down spools x100 times of line winding to the spool. Also stroke of the spool is 45mm. This creates great castability.
Body / rotor are made by Ci4+ which is light yet strong.
Price is 99,500 yen, and releasing at April 2022.
